The Broughton Instrumental Program has been an integral part of the Broughton High School and greater Raleigh Community since 1929. The Band and Orchestra program has a rich history of excellence in performance both at home and abroad, and we strive to continue to reach that standard each year. The Instrumental Program is made up of a diverse group of students who perform music from all genres. It includes two concert bands, two jazz bands, a string orchestra and the Marching Capitals Marching Band. Our students consistently place in district and regional events such as All District and All State Honor Bands, All Region and All State Jazz, and Eastern Region and All State Honors Orchestra. They are also involved in many community music groups including the Triangle Youth Jazz Orchestra, Brass Band, Symphony and Philharmonic.
